Joomla: "Too many pages" error.

[- PHP -]

To fix:

In file ~/components/com_sef/sef_ext.php

Change this:

	// see if we have a result for this location
$sql = "SELECT newurl, Itemid FROM #__redirection WHERE oldurl = '".$temploc."'";
$database->setQuery($sql);

if ($iteration > 9999) {
die('Too many pages.');
}

To this:

	// see if we have a result for this location
$sql = "SELECT newurl, Itemid FROM #__redirection WHERE oldurl = '".$temploc."'";
$database->setQuery($sql);

if ($iteration > 99999) {
die('Too many pages.');
}

Higher Quality YouTube Audio

[- Computing -]

I just got a tip on a the forums at ultimate-guitar.com, that if you add fmt=18 to the YouTube URL that you get a higher quality audio version of the video. Here's a good page about it.

You can here the difference with a direct comparison:

Now if only I could figure out a way to force my YouTube channel to post the fmt=18 links automatically.

Video: "Pain of Losing You" by Sugapablo

[- Music Performance -]

Uploaded my second video to YouTube, "Pain of Losing You".  (lyrics)

I was able to extract the audio from iMovie and import it into Audacity where I could normalize it (a key audio function missing from iMovie) and reattach it to the video, so the audio is a bit better than my first try.

OMG, YouTube is Down!

[- Computing -]

I must apologize to the world. I posted my first music video to YouTube yesterday, and because I did so, YouTube is down today. I'm not the only one who can't get there apparently.

You see, it's just my luck. I post a video, tell all my friends to go look at it, and I get embarrased because they can't!

Seriously, Google, how much money do you have? Keep them servers up and running! :P

Edit: Actually, the scuttlebutt online is that YouTube was hacked. Talk about a hacker aimin' to get his ass kicked should he ever brag about his "score"!

Video: Down the Road by Sugapablo

[- Music Performance -]

Here's my first stab at recording some of my music. I recorded this on my MacBook with iMovie and a Blue Snowball USB microphone. The guitar is the Fender CD60CE I just bought.

This is an original song called "Down the Road". (lyrics)

Police say mom on MySpace when tot fell from window

[- News -]

From the Pittsburgh Post Gazette:

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- State police say a Fayette County woman was busy with a MySpace.com computer account when her 3-year-old daughter fell from a second-floor apartment window and fractured her skull.

Police have charged 24-year-old Amanda Lee Palo, of Uniontown, with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

The girl remains in stable condition at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh since falling from the window Monday afternoon. Her injuries aren't life threatening.

Police say neighbors have seen Ms. Palo's children on the roof of the building and "hanging out" the window in the past and that the window had child safety locks that weren't in use.

Authorities have removed three other of Ms. Palo's children from the home. They are 18 months to 5 years old.

I wonder where Ashlyn is? *laughs* After all, I don't have child locks on every window, and I do have a myspace account.

Open Stage #5 is in the books.

[- Music Performance -]

I'm getting more comfortable on stage, and 5 weeks in a row, and I haven't repeated a song yet!  Five new tunes tonight, as listed in the set list.  "Every Day" I wrote this past week.  Hadn't written a new song in a while, and it just kinda came to me while listening to some solo John Lee Hooker stuff.

But it's one in the mornin' and I'm tired.  I wish rock n roll had more reasonable hours.  Especially now that I'm older and have to drive the kid to school in seven hours.  :)

Just got back from the Open Stage.

[- Music Performance -]

That's four weeks in a row. Haven't repeated a song yet. :) I wanna see how far I can go without doing so. But yep, again I got up on stage at PDs and played for the hugh crowds of people they have there (*cough*). Always a blast.

Did a Dolly Parton song, too. Jolene. Mixed in a verse from Terrapin Station into it. Sounded good. I think so, anyways. Here's the set list if you care.

It's too bad there aren't more people down there. I know it's Tuesday, but it's pretty cool down there. My buddy Josh showed up, but he was too worked up about the evils of "Liberal America" to lay back and enjoy the tunes. ;)

Telerama Goes Dark

[- News -]

From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Telerama, the Shadyside-based internet service provider, has gone dark.

Email service from the company that helped to usher Pittsburgh into the cyber age when it was founded in 1991 as one of the world's first ISPs has been down since Wednesday, and DSL service since Wednesday, according to customers. Its website is down, and five of its six telephone numbers are now answered by recordings that say they are either disconnected or out of service. The sixth rings, with no answer.

In an April 4 email to a customer, Telerama founder Doug Luce wrote, "We're actually in negotations now to move service over to another local ISP. If that works out, we will actually be going out of business." However, the company has made no public announcements. A Post-Gazette email to Mr. Luce was not answered.
